has become one of the most vibrant, lively
and busy beachside resort towns on the Red

Famed
as one of the main scuba diving destinations
of Egypt, with impressive underwater life
on its reefs and islands, in recent years
it has become a favourite for board-sports
fans, thanks to some outstanding beaches
ideal for wind and kite-surfing. International
competitions are held every year along its
sandy shores, attracting surfers from all
over the world.
Divided
into the two districts of El Dahar and Sekala,
Hurghada has something for everybody. The
old town of El Dahar, includes souks, fishermen
joints and local shops, giving a taste of
real Egyptian life plus excellent shopping
of local artefacts. Sekala, the tourist
area around the old harbour, is a hive of
action with some 20 km of hotels, shopping
centres, cinema, clubs, restaurants - a
vibrant holiday hub where everything is
open until very late at night.
Entry
Visas are simple to get if you have a valid
passport, passport photo and complete a
simple form. Some countries citizens need
to supply more information, but Egypt welcomes
visitors like few other places.

Thursday is the busiest day. Euros and US
Dollars are accepted at the airport to buy
Duty Free but for a better exchange rate
use Euros. Charter Flights start from Under
£200 and last minute deals can bring
that price down by 35%.
